Startup accelerators worldwide, with the terms they actually publish

accelerator.directory is a free index of startup accelerator programmes and the terms they publish. It lists 1,101 accelerator programmes in 104 countries. For each one it shows how much the programme invests, what equity it takes, how long it runs and how to apply. Every figure comes from a page the programme or its parent organisation published, with the source URL and the date it was read.

Only 30% of programmes publish a cheque size. When a figure is not published, the index says “not disclosed” instead of guessing. That reflects what programmes disclose, not missing data. How the figures were verified.

Which countries have the most programmes?

The United States has the most, with 169 of 1,101 (15%), followed by France (108) and India (72). The index covers 104 countries in all.

Each country below has its own page, with a table of its programmes and links on to its cities and sectors. This list shows the 24 largest. Every other country is linked from the page of each programme in it.

Which sectors do they focus on?

596 programmes (54%) are generalist and accept any sector. The largest specialist focus is Deep Tech, with 225 programmes (20%), out of 36 sectors. A programme can list several sectors, so these counts overlap.

Sectors come from a fixed list rather than free text, so a sector page collects every programme that names it.

Which accelerators take no equity or invest the most?

329 programmes publish an equity stake of zero. 128 publish a cheque of US$100,000 or more, and 50 run fully remotely. Each count includes only programmes that state the figure on their own pages.

A blank is never read as a zero. A programme that does not state its equity is left out of the equity-free list rather than counted in it, and the same holds for cheque size and format.

What is in this index?

1,101 programmes, backed by 1,702 citations of pages published by the programmes themselves. Each citation records the date it was read.

The index is one table you can filter by country, city, sector or terms. You can sort it by cheque size, equity or duration. The data is free to read. There is a JSON API, a dataset export and a changelog of what was added and when. If a programme is missing, submit it. For questions, write to hello@accelerator.directory.
